Fernando Bianchi

Bio Fernando Bianchi

Born in São Paulo in 1968, Fernando is the son of the great Italian conductor Walter Bianchi. He studied at the Fine Arts Institute of Porto Alegre in the 80s and soon fell in love with photography. Fernando's refined and contesting viewpoint is based on his references from the history of photography, cinema, and music, environments in which he was raised, shaping his way of seeing and reflecting on the world.

With a passion for semiotics, Fernando creates with great avidity images that are a perfect chronicle of mysteries, accidental lights, and shadows that linger. We can see ourselves either by our references to mass culture or by our experience of navigating this dystopian world. These images are the result of our own experiences, perceiving ourselves in scenes from classic films or in the experimentations of modernist photographers like Man Ray and Geraldo de Barros.

With a degree in Radio-TV and Advertising, Fernando has signed off on large projects as a director of advertising films with the country's main artists. His career as a photographer has always been internationally present, where he has participated in exhibitions in London, Barcelona, Paris, Portugal, and Italy.

He has taught Master's Classes in photography in London and Barcelona. Fernando also won many important awards such as the international award "Creative Camouflage Photo Challenge 2003, the Minute Festival at MIS in 2004, and the Echo Awards in the USA in 2005, among others.
